You may already know IndyCar Racing from Papyrus. It's
the computer game package that burst onto the scene and totally revolutionized
simulated auto racing.
Now, the original has been completely re-developed
and enhanced. Dave Kaemmer and the Papyrus racing simulation team went
back to the development lab and have emerged with IndyCar Racing II.
Experience true-to-life IndyCar handling characteristics,
15 real tracks from the IndyCar circuit, and a behind-the-wheel driving
experience so heart-poundingly authentic, you'll be tempted to buckle up.
The original blew away the competition. IndyCar Racing II leaves even that
masterpiece in the dust.
You choose the track
Select from 15 actual tracks from the IndyCar racing
circuit. From super-speed oval like Michigan to the tight corners and tricky
surfaces of street tracks like Long Beach.
Super-real SVGA graphics
Papyrus' texture-mapped scenery gives you an astoundingly
realistic picture. High-resolution graphics put youright behind the wheel!
Totally authentic detail
As you hurtle around the track at the wheel of your
IndyCar, you view encompasses billboards, cars, drivers, and racing teams
- all precisely replicated after the 1995 racing season.
Behind the wheel or arcade view
Most of the time, you'll probably want to be firmly
behind the wheel of your IndyCar. However, for a different perspective,
you can go above and behind for a perspective of your car flying through
a turn or weaving in traffic.
Go for the glory of a championship season
Once you've got some racing experience, you're ready
to compete in a full season of championship racing against the very best
IndyCar drivers. It's a long, grueling season, but watch your driving and
car-setup skills improve! Before you know it, you'll have a raging case
of Cup Fever.
Test your skills in a single race
Begin with practice and work up to a qualifying
lap to see how you compete. Then, test your skill and nerve in a race against
battle-hardened competitors. Set race length from 5% to 100% of actual.
Full cockpit realism
Rev your engine and the tach strip surges across
the instrument panel. The digital readout climbs. Pay attention to your
fuel gauge - do you need to pit for fuel or can you finish with what you've
got? Learn to adjust turbocharger, brake bias, and anti-roll bars as you
go.
Replay the action from almost any angle
Trackside cameras let you review accidents, check
out race strategy, and analyze strengths and weaknesses. You can even view
the action from other cars in the race. Save replays, too, or call up earlier
ones. TV sports never had it so good!
Set up your car the way you want it
After you get a feel for what your IndyCar can do,
you'll want to start pushing the performance. IndyCar Racing II's garage
enables you to make adjustments in fuel load, tires, wings, suspension,
gearbox, and much more.
Tough, hungry opponents
IndyCar Racing II's enhanced artificial intelligence
means you compete head-to-head with race-toughened drivers who are well-versed
in IndyCar strategy. Are you up to the challenge? (Until you're up to speed,
you have the option of reducing the number and effectiveness of your opponents.)
