Installation

1. Double click SETUP.exe on Program Disk 1.
Follow the installation instructions. Your serial number 
was shown on the surface of Disk 1.
2. Double click Shop icon to run Shop Creator 2.
 

Building Your WebStore

1. You will see 8 sample records prebuilt on Shop Creator.
2. In ‘Record 1’, type in Product Name, Price, URL… etc.
3. ‘Browse’ image. Select Category from list.
(Click ‘New’ to add new category on the list.)
4. To add description, click ‘…’ and type in product info.
5. When you finished filling all fields, click ‘Next/Update’.
6. Repeat step 1 to 5 for Record 2, 3….
(To add Record 9, click ‘New Record’.)
7. Click ‘Ordering Setting’ to complete order info.
8. In ‘Order Form Type’, type in your email, state tax, and 
select one Form Template from 8 options.
9. In ‘Featured Items’, click ‘Feature’ to select max. 3 items.
10. In ‘Shipping Info’, type in or accept the given info.
(To customize, follow ‘How to Edit’ and use WordPad
to edit Upload\*.js file and search for related keywords).
11. In ‘Company Profile’, type in info in all fields.
12. Click ‘Done’ to finish. 
13. Click ‘Save Shop’ to save your project as ‘Products.t’.
14. Congratulations! Your shop system is done. You can
‘Preview’ or ‘Submit’ your store to 200 search engines.
 

Sub-Categorized All By Tree Builder

1. Click on ‘Run’ or ‘Tree Builder’ button.
2. ‘Load Shop’ from your previous store: indexMMDD.html.
3. Name a ‘Big Category Name’, such as Application.
4. Select one ‘Existing Category’ and ‘Add’ to ‘Subcategory’.
(Click ‘Clear’ to undo and re-select categories again.)
5. Click ‘Next’ to repeat step 2 to 3 until finished.
6. ‘Save Shop’. ‘Preview’ new store: newindexMMDD.html.
 
 

Upload Shop System Files

1. All shop system files are located under ‘Upload’ folder.
2. Use MS-DOS or WS_FTP program at http://www.ipswitch.com.
3. Required Internet account ID & password.
4. Upload all files to your web site (in NT, 95, UNIX, Mac OK).
5. To upload shop system files by Tree Builder, please select files
from Shop Creator root directory, such as newindexMMDD.html
and other HTML and image files as listed in Tree Builder list box.
 

More Demo Offline Stores

1. Run Netscape or IE version 3 or above. Make sure frame enabled.
2. Browse DEMOSHOP.html in 10 demo stores of [ShopExamples].
 
 

Program Precautions

IMPORTANT: When you are using Shop Creator 2.0, please always stay at your current program directory and do not load or save any file from Other Directory to avoid 'file not found' or 'save problem'. 
Copy all image files to Shop Creator program folder before 'Browse Image'. 
Always save shop as 'Products.t' in current directory.

1. Always click on ‘Next/Update’ button to update new data entries.
2. Do not use QUOTATION MARK in Product Name, URL or Price.
3. Only NUMERIC allowed in Unit Price, such as 69.95 (No ‘$’).
4. Only GIF or JPG accepted in Image URL. Could be http://…..gif
5. To update the last record, click ‘Save Shop’.
6. If ‘Preview’ cannot bring up the correct store site in preview mode,
please click ‘Preview’ again to refresh. 
7. If store site was not updated on ‘Preview’, please run Shop Creator 
again and add ‘Ordering Setting’. Then “Save Shop’ to ‘Preview’.
8. To ‘Import Shop Data’, please copy and rename the ***.t (such as
Products.t) in current Shop Creator root directory in advanced.
9. To ‘Run’ Category Tree Builder or ‘Preview’ a store,  make sure 
your working directory is still under Shop Creator root directory. 
10. Maintain at least 8 records in Shop Creator database.
11. When ‘Delete Category’, make sure it was not used by any record.
12. Do not edit contents of any *.js file in Shop Creator root directory.
However, you can edit or customize *.js file in Upload directory.
